Scottish Hospital Inquiry - My personal statement with two hats on!

What is the Scottish Hospital Inquiry?

The overarching aim of the Scottish Hospital Inquiry is to consider the planning, design, construction, commissioning and, where appropriate, maintenance of both the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Campus (QEUH), Glasgow and the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and Department of Clinical Neurosciences (RHCYP/DCN), Edinburgh.
The Inquiry determines how issues relating to the adequacy of ventilation, water contamination and other matters adversely impacting on patient safety and care occurred; if these issues could have been prevented; the impacts of these issues on patients and their families; and whether the buildings provide a suitable environment for the delivery of safe, effective person-centred care.

My role and statement in it:

My role was giving my personal statement and experience of what we as a family went through with our daughter's care and the effect of the move to the new premises which did not happen in time. As a parent, I was able to give the actual situation of what had happened with the delay of the shift to the new hospital and the lack of communications from the hospital administration. My other role in this statement was with me being a parent member of the Family Council and what our role was with knowing about the move etc.
